Naas LTC arehaving their Junior Open Tennis Week from 03^th to 10^th July 2010

Entries close on 29^th June @ 7.00pm

Draw takes place on June 30^th .

The 2010 Longford Tennis Open Week tournaments will begin with the Under 10's Singles tournament which takes place on Sunday, July 11th. Entry Fee €5, with no additional capitation fee.

The under 12 and under 14 tournaments commence on Monday July 12th at 10.00am.
The U16 and U18 tournaments commence on Wednesday 14th at 10.00am.

Costs for these tournaments are €8 for singles tournament and €5 per doubles tournament plus a capitation fee of €3 per person.

The Senior competitions will take place Mon July 12th to Sun July 18th, and will begin at 6.30pm every evening.

Costs for these tournaments are €12 for singles tournament and €10 per doubles tournament plus a capitation fee of €5 per person.

Junior Boys match v Carlow

Abbeyleix junior boys entertain Carlow on Sunday 6th June at 11am. This will be the first in a series of boys and girls matches over the next few months. The juniors also hope to entertain Portarlington, Athy, Tullamore and hopefully Kilkenny.

Junior Tennis Competition & BBQ

The junior committee are organizing a junior competition and BBQ on Friday night 11th June starting at 7 pm with an entry of €5. The event is part of the Abbeyfest weekend and will coincide with a table tennis competition in the upstairs area of the Park clubhouse. Entry sheet is posted in clubhouse. An exiles return morning for adults will take place on Sunday morning at 10.30am

Junior Committee AGM 2010

The Junior Committee had their AGM on Friday 21st May in the clubhouse with a good attendance. The outgoing committee reported on a very active year, with the de Vesci Salver & Castle Durrow shield among the main events that saw the re introduction of Club Championships, Community Games/Interprovincial Blitz, and also ran off separate Centenary Competitions. Quite a number of the junior group also assisted greatly with their work on the Saturday morning and Tuesday & Thursday afternoons. The Committee also introduced new club gear to give their own identity within the club, held their own awards night and also had time to run a fundraiser for Laois MS which generated €300 to a very worth cause. The new Committee will consist of Niamh Bergin, Claire Thompson, Ciara Egan & Katie Rogers as well as Bill Talbot, Thomas Bulfin, Joseph Casey and Mathew Thompson. It was also agreed to form separate committees from the members on Grounds, Clubhouse, Competitions and attendance and registration. It was also proposed to continue with coaching and have more interaction with other clubs. The first event for the new season will be a junior competition and BBQ for the AbbeyFest weekend of 11th June. A table tennis competition will also be staged in the Park Dev Clubhouse on Friday 11th June.

Clelands Interfirms 2010

Well done to all who competed in the Clelands Interfirms. This was a very successful addition to the competitions calendar for the year.
