Well done to all who took part in the Centennial Salver Competition on Sunday 30 August 2009. The salver was kindly sponsored by Billy White and Emily McDonald winners on the day with most points were Tracy Burke and Eamonn Carroll. Prizes for each section kindly sponsored by John Bonham and Martin Bonham (Bonham’s Garage) as follows; A Section Winners Tracy Burke and Eamonn Carroll, Runners Up Pat Fogarty and Cian Prendergast; B Section Winners Siobhán Fennelly and John Burke, Runners Up Michelle Stone and Liam Fitzgerald; C Section Winners Trisha Picard and Sinéad Fitzpatrick, Runners Up Clodagh Mc Donald and Michelle  Fitzpatrick. Well done to all who took part in the recent singles competition. There was a record entry of over 40 for the competition kindly sponsored by Jimmy Bergin Jewellers. The competition had mens and ladies A, B and C sections. Due to the high entry level the competition was run through out May and June. Presentation of prizes took place in July. Prize winners were presented with Galway Crystal by Jimmy Bergin. Prize winners as follows; Mens A Section Winner Owen Behan, Runner Up Paul Van Amersforth; Mens B Section Winner Michael Rafter, Runner Up Garry Luttrell; and Mens C Section Winner Declan Stanley, Runner Up Eddie Dunne. Ladies A Section Winner Mary Daly, Runner Up Trisha Dowling Ladies B Section Winner Michelle Stone, Runner Up Bridie Fennelly; Ladies C Section Winner Sue Ramsbottom, Runner Up Helen Davies.

A fantastic weeknd of festivities at our club to celebrate our Centenary year. A big thanks to all our members who attended the activities. We we especially pleased to see so many members from the past coming back to the club to help us celebrate. A full report of the events is attached. Photos to follow later.

Competition results were:
Friday evening Junior Competition: Winners were Emma Thompson/ Izzy Rameili and R/up Catriona Luttrell/Mathew Wallace.
The Saturday morning Mini Olympics included Athletics, Penalties, Basketball, Rounder’s, Tennis, relay event and the popular bean bag throw. Special thank to Andy Sutton from LSP and all of the team leaders Siobhan, Marie, Alain, Liam, Emma, Sinead, Tracy, Leisa and  Cathy. Team Belgium was the overall winners and all participants were presented with a specially marked Centenary ball.
The Saturday evening Junior/Juvenile competition had a confined entry of 32 with Aileen Lutrrell/Kevin Wilson winning out against Siobhan Fennelly & Liam Oxley.
