Abbeyleix Tennis Club

Abbeyleix Tennis Club was established in 1909 and is situated in Fr Breen Memorial Park, just off the heritage town’s main street. It has five Synthetic grass courts, 3 of which were recently refurbished in spring 2022 and 2023. All 5 courts have floodlighting facilities.  There is also a practice wall area. There is a large clubhouse with changing rooms, showers and toilet facilities. A kitchen is also available, with a reception room area upstairs and a balcony overlooking the park and courts.

Abbeyleix Tennis Club has an active membership of over 100 adults and a similiar number of Junior/Juveniles.

We run social tennis evenings at 7:30pm on Mondays (advanced/intermediate), Wednesdays (beginners/improvers) and Fridays (Juniors). Prospective new members are welcome to try those out twice before committing to join the club, it is a great way to integrate quickly into the social fabric and identity of the club, and have great craic all round!! It works on a doubles format and you are paired with a different member each session, and is a great place to meet fellow members.
